This blog started for the project I am a Librarian! It gave detail the project progress. It will now focus on discussions of the image of the librarian and my interactions with librarians and library staffers as well as cool information that I think could be useful to others.

Extreme Makeover Category

This is some old news, but just in case you have not seen it. Extreme Makeover has a category specifically for cancer survivor or librarian.

I have met many beautiful or handsome librarians along the way. I believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way and I try to find that beauty. I do not think that beauty is only shown on the surface level. When you truly feel beautiful others will see that in you too.

HI, I am a Librarian.
But I am a GUY, yes, a GUY (so I guess I don't fit into the tradional stereotype of a LIBRARIAN). I have been working in Maryland for 4 years now and I find the job quite nice!
At meetings I am surrounded by FEMALE Librarians and do feel a bit odd, but I don't mind the attention.
I have gotten many comments from customers saying that they adore the fact I am male. They are so happy their child sees that its ok for a Male to have a job like this.
So in closing, yes I am a GUY and yes I do have a FEMALE position, but so what, MANY females are bosses of HUGE companies (somthing not seen 50 years ago!)(times change and so do we!)

That's exactly my point. I want people to recognize that a whole variety of people are and can be librarians too. And there are many varied positions that one can have with their Masters in Library Science.
